pay for camping (in B.C.) lately? Well don't, See here.
I took my family to Fort Steele (by Cranbrook) a couple days ago, I'd recommend it, especially if you have kids. Part of it might I might be nostalgia because I used to go there almost every summer when i was growing up, and the fact that my 3 kids are all under 5 so admission, the wagon ride, train ride, live theatre, and lunch buffet are all free for them. We also fed, and got to "pet" some huge trout at The Kootenay Trout Hatchery which is close by, and there's some other cool stuff there too. (and we camped for FREE at Horsehoe Lake)

i watched alot of tv on tuesday night which is pretty rare for me lately. despite the oodles of crap, there actually is some good stuff on - the daily show, a show called "journey of man", a show on how they construct things - wicker baskets, wind generators, etc. (anyone seen that?). some more tidbits:

“I begged to use the washroom and my boss said “No”, so I ended up wetting myself and standing in my own urine for the rest of the work shift. Later I was disciplined for filing a complaint about what happened.”

"Louis Riel"
by Chester Brown
graphic novel, b&w (i can barely read color comics anymore). get it at a library.
(i've read "the little man" and "i never liked you" by this guy too so you don't have to... if you know what's good for you.)

"Canadian History For Dummies"
i have long avoided any "... for dummies" books, who wants to be seen reading one?
liz even pointed out a "migraines for dummies" book to me a few days ago... it's good though, by a good author - Will Ferguson (has written a few other books with his brother Ian Ferguson)
