zeus or suess? i know of certain people that pronounce dr. suess' name as "zeus" for a reason that has always evaded me.
is it it hard for some to say "soooooos"?
enlighten me.

I saw "SLC* Punk!" last night, i liked it a fair bit, not completely, it's hard for me to like things entirely. i (generally) found the PUNK characters not to be caricatures (which has been too common in my viewing experience). and it was nostalgic for me too in some ways.
have any of you seen it?

my favorite band today is electric 6
the "radio ga ga" video is beautiful,
(Roger Taylor (Queen's Drummer) has voiced his
opinions of this version of the song, saying the
video is tasteless and that he will "wait for the royalties")
i couldn't get the other clips to play though :(
(maybe you can)
and there's a fan video on ifilm:

"US Ambassador David Wilkins is sick of political points in Canada's election campaign being scored at the expense of the two countries' relationship.

What if one of your best friends criticized you directly and indirectly almost relentlessly? What if that friend's agenda was to highlight your perceived flaws while avoiding mentioning your successes? What if that friend demanded respect but offered little in return?

Currently, and what if that friend owed you money or something ... maybe on some deal you shook on like ages ago? Now that doesn't sound like a friend at all. I'm with you Mr. US Ambassador, that "friend" sounds like a total jerk."

another letter to cbc:

please re-broadcast saturday and sunday programming (the house, go, quirks, o'reilly, dnto, vinyl tap, vinyl cafe, etc.) in the 2-4 pm time slot on weekdays.
(I often miss them on the weekends.)

or please extend the duration of the local call-in shows.

or both.

have you no mercy?

Today's letter to cbc:

Instead of what we hear now at 2 p.m. weekdays, couldn't we hear "ideas", "C'est la Vie", "Global Village", "Dispatches", "The Arts Tonight", and "Wiretap"? Even "outfront", and "between the covers" would be easier to listen to.

As you are already repeating portions of "sounds like canada" and "the current" in "night time review" I can't see why this would not be possible.

I would prefer not hearing repeated programs at all, but at least I can watch "this hour has 22 minutes", "airfarce", or "rick mercer" (etc.) at night.

As well, several cbc television shows could easily be aired as radio shows, often without any effort.

I hope that you will consider these suggestions.

today's other letter:

bunny watson was a decent show, if only it had been given a decent timeslot.

antibacterial soap - for hypochondriacs that want to increase their children's risk of allergies and athsma, that are interested in helping to create "superbugs", and just want to spend more on something just as effective as plain old soap.

ipod, iriver, idog, iz, and ietc. all you have to do to sell something these days is add an "i". i have an itruck for sale (iford f150).

my latest letter to cbc about freestyle:

"couldn't this program be "padded" with clips from something like "cbc radio overnight" instead of music? or with podcasts?
i just did a little searching and saw a show of podcasts called "the feed" is a possibility.
this would be a good slot"

i came accross this canadian podcast list:

i also heard Marie-Chantale Turgeon talking about her podcast "Vu D'ici" on Sounds Like Canada a few weeks ago, it made a list of best podcasts in Spin magazine.
